I’m thinking this is a really good deal, and looking to see how cheaply I can build up a bike. Buying 2nd hand parts, I’m hoping to get the rest of the bike for 250 max. Not many pennies spare with us buying a house soon, but can’t see anything with better value that will give me a new frame.

Not a hardcore roadie, just looking for a commuter and something I can train a little on.

Good info, thanks!

at 5’9” it appears I am either at the top end of medium, or the bottom of large....

If you're anywhere near Bristol I could do you a cracking deal on some brand new Mavic Aksium wheels and tyres which have come off a new bike and are unused. £75? I've also got a choice of handlebars you're welcome to take off my hands which I'll throw in to the deal.

Seems pretty cheap given the bits that come with it.

Brant, spot on, thanks!

salad_dodger, that would be awesome, except I’m in Lincoln at the moment! Birthday next week, and off to Aylesbury in a couple of weeks. I’ll let you know!

Ive got a carbon and an alu version of this (both in medium, 5ft 10) great bikes. I rode the alu as a winter commuter, it's great.

I’ll bung something back your direction, if only for the karma! Many thanks, I’ll let you know!

Hmm, that is tempting. So you'd need:

Bar, stem and tape

Wheels, tape, tyres and tubes

Crank and chainrings, BB, chain and pedals

Front and rear mech, cassette, cables

Brifters and brakes

Seat clamp, saddle and seatpost.

What have I missed?

Conan, I’ve got a pair of unused 105 5600 series brake calipers you can have for the cost of postage. You’ll just need pads/holders.
