Don't know what this one involves but I run a 3 hour course for free that includes basic bike setup and maintenence. Designed for begineer to cycling or those who bike but know nothing about it. It covers replaceing tubes, refitting tyres, how to set up your brakes, indexing of gears, how to use your chain tool and other general stuff you need to know before you set off and when you out miles from home or help.
I run it for free because people alway end up buying stuff they need.

It think this knowledge should be inparted for free anyway as you just have to know if you ride.

£40 seemed a lot for what they were offering i.e. basic/general maintenance - nothing particularly difficult to workout yourself (this may have changed though).

I found the best way to learn is hook up with a local club (try www.treadscc.co.uk they are a good bunch of guys and very happy to help with technical issues) and you get to know some new riding buddies.

BTW - Richard where do you work now; the service is shocking since you left!!

Ah ok mcobie. Was going to go on a Treads ride recently but work called. Might get down there one Sunday. Do you go riding with them?

Life would be much more fun if it wasn't for work always getting in the way 😉

I do ride with Treads, but don't often manage to make the Sundays - more consistent on the Saturday rides. I am organizing a trip a week on Sunday though that you're welcome to come along to, just put your name on the forum.

Tony is the man to speak to on a Sunday for proper technical help...Tom at Pitsford is a good guy though, so speak to him if you have any questions about their course and what it consists of. (If you join Treads we get a discount there).

Might catch you soon.

Would normally be up for a jaunt away but this month is not good with most weekends tied up already 🙁

Will try and get over to Treads one week as soon as I'm free again be good to meet some other like minded biking buds!

I tend to venture around harlestone firs as just down the road but go peaks a fair bit.
