[#6267527]

Looking to upgrade my Boardman CX comp with some new brakes and carbon fork (disc).
Thinking of TRP Spyre brakes but not sure on a fork.
It was a cheap buy so I don't want to spend loads...

Good bit of timing:

...although, £70 more gets you them brand new, with rotors/mounts, from Merlin.

Make sure you measure the steerer taper (if it has one) on your current forks, as the boardman carbon forks I bought second hand used the different taper standard, making it basically impossible for you to get different forks because there aren't aftermarket forks using 1-1/8 to 1-1/4 taper (GT overdrive road 'standard'). Also no headset to make a straight steerer fit that standard.

You might be fine though!

Thanks Jamie - looks like i'm too late though. I should have checked the classifieds first!
@faustus - you've got me paranoid about the forks now! I was hoping for an easy swap and to have something I could also use on my 29er.

depends what you use it for but a decent 2nd set of wheels gives the option of easily switching from road to fun and can be used on another bike in the future

if you are actually racing cx then no idea maybe a new bucket for you to wash in at the end?

@Speshpaul - i'll drop you a line.

@antigee - just use it for gentle trails, touring. Bit slow/fat to race!

Just stuck some of the TRP hy/rd's on mine. Straight swap for the BB5's that were on as OE. So far they are ace.
