are there any 140/150mm forks as tough as old type pike air?
i had a pair of 150mm revs, which everyone say's are the same as the pike, but they are or were not as solid feeling.
what else is as tough.
Bombers
or 36's very solid feeling just ignore the stanchion wear
Fox 36 Floats with spacers in to reduce travel?
mikewsmith, which bombers?
New Pikes ?
I have AM1 SL's and 55's not the most reliable but solid feeling. The new 55's look tough.
cheers
Sektor are pretty much a Pike
I thought Sektors were Revelations with a less sophisticated damper?

which pretty much equals a Pike of old
Mad Pierre - Memberwhich pretty much equals a Pike of old
Damping wise, sure, but the chassis is totally different. Much lighter, definately flexier. Still, strong enough for me so far.
I reckon 99% of people who think they needed the strength of a Pike probably would be fine on a Rev. But, if you're the 1%, space down an air Lyrik, it's still lighter than the heavier Pikes.
Is the Argyll 140mm fork not the Pike chassis? Or is that an InterWebFact?
Got a mint pair of Coil Pikes for sale, ton
sektor coil with a blacbox damper... ๐
chunky.......coils are far too soft for me mate, cheers tho.
the revs are far far flexier for and aft than the pike ever were.
20 odd stone braking hard with a 200mm rotor tests them a little bit more than a 12/14 stone person i reckon...... ๐
140mm SoloAir Argyles are the same as the old Pikes aren't they?

I know what you mean about the new Revs. They seem as stiff as Pikes when cornering, but a bit twangy under braking.
was probably using them slightly different to how most would on here
I would comment on this, but if you're the Duane I think you are (mate of Steve Prices?) You're probably right hahahaha.
Also, those are the older Pikes, which were known to be weak on the arch.
Ha ha Duane! ya smooth bastard!! ๐ ๐
how did you do that on your.. er.. XC bike? ๐
Nah, I see what you did there, you overtightened the cable tie didn't you?
PJ- haha aye that's me ๐
Gary, haha, well umm, jumping in near pitch darkness, with random flashes/lights going off. Oh, and wearing a Santa suit. Tabled, got bars stuck in santa suit crotch area, and landed still tabled... ๐
Was a warmup run for this shot (which I then had to do on Lozs bike, which I wasn't used to, at all...)

excellent!! ๐
I'd just have fitted Santa's handily placed set of fox forks early myself ๐
Haha if only ๐
What about Marz 44s? What are they like for stiffness?
Just got some 44's, cant really comment yet tbh, but theyre certainly less bulky than Pikes, weigh a pound less! and look a bit spindlier too.
In my mind, they therefore cant be stiffer!
i have a set of 55 ata things in the garage.
i dont wind forks up n down, so i will see how they go.
all the bad stuff i hear about em is with winding em up n down and using the lockout.
we will see.
I've got 2 sets of Revs which replaced 2 sets of Pikes (1 set of Pikes still in use on another bike) and I can't tell the diffrence flex wise? Mine are all 20mm axles. Maybe I'm not good enough to notice?
I can tell the difference in damping though - the revs are way better.
