I'm service a pair of old pike rc dual position 650b forks for a friend and what looks to be the original problematic seal head on the charger damper has done what they do best and puked its guts into the fork.

Does anyone know where to get the uprated spare? Are they available on their own or do they have to come as part of a seal kit? Did the part number change when they modified it or was it a rolling change?

I think you can get them from Ze Germans, but I got mine with a full service kit from TFT when I did my Pikes. And then bought some Yari after a PSA on here.

Cheers. Germans always seem to have what we can't get. Are all Pike seal heads the same? I imagine they should be.

They should be for the mk1 Charger - not sure on the mk2. BTW, there is a compatability issue on 26" forks at 160mm travel - don't think the new seal head works.

I asked the same question a week or so ago...

http://singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/rs-charger-damper-leakage

I ordered the seal head in the link in the thread and put my damper back together last night and so far so good. Proof of the pudding is in the eating of course.

Cheers wobbliscott, just goes to show how good the search here is!

Teethgrinder, thanks. I was aware of that. These are 650b so I'll be okay there.

Yes, it took me a few attempts to find my own thread.

Although Dougal in NZ is a bit far. Been reading some of his thoughts on a rotorburn thread.
