Had a nice ride today round Cleeve common above Cheltenham. Lush weather.

Ebike laps in Bringewood.
A lot of the trails are now unrideable due to felling but there's still a couple in prime condition.

That's a god jump up there from the wee man!

First Peak District ride on Friday - Jacob's Ladder, Rushup Edge, Roych Clough

A bit 'meh' on it. Kind of difficult to get much momentum going - lots of mud or gates in the way - spent a lot of time getting on and off bike instead of rising. The descents weren't all that exciting either. Not a bad ride, but not a great one.

Should have been up Hellvelyn today but binned it due to the weather forecast. Went to Newcastelton instead which was nice enough. No pics though. Lots of fireroad!

Weather forecasts are overrated. Everytime Ive looked at one and bailed a ride, turns out not as bad as predicted and I realise I should have gone.

We are not at Everest base camp, so I now figure, sod the forecast, lets just see how it is when I get there. Bikes are not made of sugar, and if it's crap I can always ride back to the van.

We took advantage of an early ride in the Peak assuming that the winds were going to increase later on and probably no riding tomorrow. Loads of people out and the wind didn't kick in till the very end

Just time for a local loop before the wind picked up today, yesterday I had a freezing fog start, followed by sparkling sunshine and semi-frozen mud.

This looks freshly painted. 40miles and trails drying nicely - shame they'll get a soaking this week.

I headed up on Exmoor Friday and stayed the night at Foreland Bothy. Up early next day and back down to Simonsbath. Was going to do a little write up and include more pics from my camera. May do that today... Weather is hideous out!

Went out Friday night, got back Saturday lunchtime. Went to reccy a potential future bivvy site and rode some of the Icknield Way that I've not been on before. Loud geese and ducks, roads, byways, bridleways, singletrack, slop. Fun breakdown: 60% type 1, 30% type 2, 10% type 3.

Went to Culbin forest to hide from the storm. A bit wet in places, but a fun little spin.

Having a bit of a rest at top of GT yesterday before the storm. Really like the new Careless Whisper trail its fast becoming a favourite...still can't ride trailfairy plan without crashing at least once.

Did a quick ride from Triscombe yesterday with a mixture of dh and xc. Think the Forestry commission were in full cover their arse mode.

This picture was taken after riding everything the otherside of the sign

Trail maintenance day for us.

Cleared out a years mulch on the main climb. A lot easier when there are a few of you. We even got to ride it afterwards. Although after a long morning of shovelling, I didn’t have much energy left!

I had an hour whilst my daughter was at dance class so went for a singlespeed spin. Loads of roadies out making the most of the decent morning.

Rode the 'Genesis' loop at Afan Saturday morning, lovely conditions for this time of year, it's a great loop in it own right, long enough to justify the trip for me (30 mins) but quick enough that I could get home to do a decorating job I needed to complete.

Bit of a pain they'd closed the bottom of Bluescar, but met another rider who told me the trail was actually untouched, it's the fire road at the bottom that's having work done, and they don't work weekends. Make of that what you will.
