Off to France for dh mtb in alps. The company we are using has suggested an insurance provider to use incase of injury cover medical, airlift etc. Just seeing what others use. Happy to go with their recommendaction but wonder if there are annual covers which cover uk and abroad. Or even better a general outdoor cover for biking, kayaking , climbing etc. All different but essentially all involve injury outdoors requiring treatment, repatriation, personal liability etc
Annual cover I find too expensive for sports, I tend to do travel insurance worldwide for the travel bit and then top up with basic sports insurance for each trip to cover the gnarly stuff. Dog tag is £55 for 2 weeks biking in the alps, I pay £110 a year for my main policy which covers skiing too. Annual was over £400 everywhere I looked, obviously depends on your circumstances.
Have used pj Hayman lots over the years through various names and brokers but never claimed, a mate pranged it big time and dog tag were excellent so I’ve gone with them now.
I use worlds nomads, £20 a week for DH, it’s not great for ‘normal stuff’ but I’ve got cover with my bank a/c for that.
If you are driving I've found that my breakdown cover will also cover medical expenses. You have to check to make sure you are covered for DH though
Have a look at Yellow Jersey, that's who we use. We have an annual European cover. Our daughters is world wide and just had a couple of weeks cover for our other daughter who has been on an Alps trip with us.
Thanks for responses all useful suggestions.

Dog Tag looks ok at initial look, but for decent cover it is actually very very expensive.
