I live about 20 miles away, but am ashamed to say I've not really explored the Pentlands at all.

As I'm off tomorrow I was thinking of heading over for a little scoot around.

Is anyone able to recommend a nice little route - maybe 10-20 miles, with a GPS file if possible? I'm aware that parts can be quite boggy, so would be good to avoid those bits as much as possible.

Thanks!

scotroutes? had an overlay GPX map of the various annotated routes..

There are loads, check on Strava or follow your nose. Was there nigh on 20 years and I never found, or explored them all..

After the rain today and this week. They will be pretty boggy everywhere.

No gps files but just make it up as you go along.

You could also go to the pentlandhills.org and download their map which will show you the paths. They also do a cyclist version of the map giving the most and least suitable cycling paths, which you can pick up at their information centres.

Go along to an Edinburgh RC Mtb ride on a Saturday morning, best way to explore the Pentlands
