Hi all, im pretty new to the pentlands region for mountainbiking, i have ridden from flotterstone inn up through the hills and down towards balerno. however i find this route pretty boring. Can anyone suggest an easily navigable route that its reasonably techincal?

There aren't really any "technical" routes in the Pentlands. I've been around almost every track up there on my CX bike and my Fatbike. There are some home-spun DH trails on White Hill if that's your bag but they are very short (not what I'd call a "route")

No real technical routes as druidh says - there are (very) short bits and pieces but you're basically in rolling hills territory. The exception would be the climbs - plenty of v challenging and technical climbs to be had. Not what one normally has in mind when looking for a technical 'route' though.

You can put loads of good routes together though, you just need to adjust your expectations that you're not going to see much in the way of rocky challenging stuff.
