Can't make it this year as I'm doubled booked. After last weeks CVMBC I picked up the PennineX flyer and decided to do the route on Sunday. Some say it's not quite the CVMBC but I think they are totally different challenges. The first 12 miles of headwind to the top of Rishworth Moor didn't help but after that it was very enjoyable. I wonder if theflatboy's comment is regarding the loose stone bridleway down from the top of Rishworth Moor. I could see that catching out the unwary!
The ride back up the Pennines from the M62 was also a challenge and enjoyable. I don't think I've ever wanted to see a proper road so much. And then the old pack horse trail down to Marsden was just wonderful. I can't believe that I've not come across that in 7 years of cycling around here.
