seeing the Afan bike selection thread made me think. I have my bike, which is a rigid SS or I have use of my wife's bike which is a Dialled Kobe 1x9.
I normally ride the SS everywhere, and I am going to Penmachno with two other lads both on SS - but they have suspension forks.
Afan last time killed me. Not so much the gearing but the rigidness. How rocky is it, is the rigid fork going to hurt me?
Cheers
Take the kobe and leave it in a gear closest to that of your ss, you don't need to change gear just because the bike has them.
but I am a lazy fat knacker. ๐ฅ
the downs will definitely be more fun with some boing up front - the middle bits are quite flat or contour-ey so no big probs there - I normally ride it on a 2x9 hardtail and wind out the forks to allow proper hooning at the end.
Penmachno is fairly smooth so you should be OK.
Do you really need to ask?
You'd be fine on your fixie mate. ๐
Bring either, just leave the guitar & the bad jokes behind ๐
