The inaugural Pedalling Ideas is bringing together an eclectic collection of speakers providing inspiration about life on two wheels, a collection of personal stories and journeys inspired by people’s love of the bicycle and where it can take us. Riding a bike is fun and the journeys we take on them are vastly different. Pedalling Ideas will bring these stories together through a weekend of inspiring, interesting and entertaining talks that celebrate the ride. This is an opportunity for people to come, listen to others, share their enthusiasm for all things bike related, but also to learn something new, be inspired to try a different aspect of riding, share their stories and be part of the cycling community.
The weekend event will take place on 17 / 18 of September and will be held at Duke Studios, an intimate collaborative event space in Leeds. In addition to the talks there will be time for attendees to relax, socialise and share their own bike stories and experiences.
Pedalling Ideas will be run as a not for profit event, with all profits raising money for St Gemma’s hospice here in Leeds. Local rider and deputy editor of Singletrack Jenn Hill sadly died from cancer in 2015 and was cared for by St Gemma’s. Many riders in Leeds are looking to raise money across 2016 in order to make a significant donation and the Pedalling Ideas weekend will help contribute to this fundraising effort.
