NBT.. the 2.4 ADvantage give 14.89% more drag than their slimmer sisters I think its only fair to factor in this drag co-efficient when making a selection. I might have to pre ride the route and leave suitable tyres dotted around allowing me to be on the best rubber at the right time...
Pook is it possible that a group could go down Pindale and the other go down Cavedale then regroup? That way everyone is happy and people can decide 'on the day' how fruity they feel?
Pook - How about sending a one-man group down one way, then the rest of you can ride off in the other direction? I didn't have anyone in particular in mind. Just anyone who seems to be doing the most moaning about routes, frames, forks, conditions, weather, rocks, tyres, air density, ethnic mix of the group, .......
you get the picture
I'm going to try and make it. Trying to get clearance
I reckon a one man group bound and gagged in the car park.
G&T cake ? That's a new one, got to be worth a go.
It's essentialy lemon drizzle, but with gin 🙂
Binners, just tell her you HAVE to come out and play because it's a double Birthday Ride . 😀
Its a fair point Graeme. It'd be frightfully bad form not too. Not done a Peaks Pootle for a while either 😀
The last time we rode together Binners I collapsed!
Unless you count me nicking hora's rat bike that night in Manchester
I have that effect on a lot of people 😀
Even before they smell your breath?*
*prize to the person who identifies the classic game reference here.
secret of monkey island
Binners if you come I'll buy you pint of ale afterwards.
You've put that in writing now!!
Quick. Witness it everyone before he edits his post!!!!!!
From where I come from it is a great annual honour for one to be presented with a frothy head of ale.
ooh tempted.
Tom, you win a prize. Hora drunk.
knew i shouldve clarified t's and c's before answering 😯
.duncan (it was nice to meet you at Farmer John's race) will you be bringing the camera?
What shoes for walking, pushing the bike down Cavedale?
@Bunnyhop, it depends.. most likely i'll just be bringing the compact if i can make it however if the weather's looking interesting i might bring the big camera. (I've posted in the photos of the last month thread with some recent bits)
Your high heels will be fine Jane. Who days we're doing cavedale anyway? ;o)
You'll be fine Jane. Horas wearing his Jimmy Choo SPD's
Mmm may swap with Hora.Horas wearing his Jimmy Choo SPD's.Your high heels will be fine Jane
Remember Jane, he has feet like a pair of Cornish pasties that have exploded in the oven
You wouldn't know style if it kicked your ****ing head in outside a kebab house!
So you don't read Spanish? The strapline translated means "for people with 'special' feet"
SIMPLES GOT A SALE ON!!
binners - you've put me off pastry based products for life. Walks away shuddering.
Never done a STW ride, i'll join in.
Wozza, you're more than welcome.
The last pootle...
Chris,where are those steps?
And is that lantern pike descent 1.17 onwards?
Those steps are here, good descent, but better with a fair bit of space between people.
I believe I once rode over someone who'd fallen off at the bottom.
Doesn't surprise me... I once overtook a relative of a certain Mr Craig down there once, but i'm sure he was just being nice. I doubt it will ever happen again.
Pook - The front picture of your video features a guy wearing blue with bright yellow rucksack, I was the rider in front of him, so you just get to see the top of my head under the word vimeo......I have not forgiven you for cutting me out 😉
Right. I'l dig out my best bunnyhop clips and put it to a suitably girlie soundtrack.
When I get chance!
Me and the wife might come along to this pootle. Where is everyone meeting up and how far from the train station please ?
The meeting point will be just across the road from the train station in Edale.
http://www.streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?X=412450&Y=385352&A=Y&Z=120
Getting there might be an issue - you;ll have to check the train times and costs, it's not cheap as it crosses the border into derbyshire
nbt checked on the train fair and I can get a wayfare ticket for £10.00
Same price as petrol each 🙂
Can't wait for this!
Might also be on the train lesa, unless anyone is going through Whaley Bridge to get to Edale?
I was thinking this had been off the top of the forum for a while!
Lesa - it'll be good to have you both along. Between us, me and NBT have knocked up something of a route which should please the troops. Let's just pray for good weather.
What's the route then Chris?
None of your beeswax young sammy me lad. If I were put the route up on here, I'd have a week of you lot whinging. And bearing in mind I've got to put up with 4 hours of you lot whinging on Saturday anyway, I don't much fancy adding 5 days on top of that.
😉
