Right, due to family commitments I have to get back a bit earlier than usual this time, so I'm planning to do the loop starting from Hayfield, hopefully meet up with the official Pook's™ Peaks Pootle® at Edale at 10, ride with the bunch back to Hayfield and then sit and [s]laugh[/s] shout encouragement as you all set off up Coldwell Clough. See yers all tomorrow!

I'll be along Chris if I can get up there after F1. I'm relying on horas car park faffage for a delayed start...

F1 coverage finishes at 9.15am. Handily, that is exactly when skiprat of this parish is picking me up from Sheffield......

Funny how things work out eh? ;o)

Had intended (and had a pass) to make this one but as I've spent the last 48 (almost) hours in Alder Hey Childrens Hospital with my 9 year old who underwent signficant urgent surgery yesterday I (a) desperately need sleep and (b) have higher priorities elsewhere. Have a good one folks.

PaulMc - I hope everything goes well for you.
Bunnyhop x

We (nbt and myself) might be there tomorrow.
I'll be the one moaning a lot near the back, you know - too hot, too cold, need a wee, I'm hungry, are we nearly there yet, too rocky too steep etc 🙂

Heavy dew and misty in The Valley at 8am but the sun is just cresting the ridge and burning off the mist nicely to leave bright blue sky above - looks like it's going to be a fab day for a Pootle. Top choice of weather Pook! 😀

Bah. Girlfriend is going to the gym so I'm on childcare duties. Bit cold to have her on the back of the bike for hours.

Are they even back yet?

One of the reasons I don't do big group rides anymore is I can't be doing with 5 hour rides that would normally take me 2.5

Last time I did this route as a pootle it took a good 6 hours, but that was in the snow.

We are back, great group of people with whom to push a mountain bike up hills in the Peak District. Huge thanks to Chris and Jules for another well organised Pootle.
Good to meet some more folks. I will post the pics up when I have recovered sufficient strength, I am totally bolloxed. 😀

@ Hora who needs "Strava!" on downhills when there's "LANCE!" for the climbs. 😉

Cracking pootle eh? The loooong push up is worth it. Just about!
Cheers all - you lot make these rides for me. Special cheers to Jules for co-pilot and counting duties, and to all the rest who held gates and counted.

And for every single one of you who gave an encouraging word to someone else - cheers. That's what it's all about.

We put £27 in the Edale Mountain Rescue pot too today, so on behalf of them, thanks!

Video coming up at some point. 😉

Huge thanks to Mr Pook, my first ever pootle and it was great fun! Will get some photos online in a bit when I've had my tea, we had to leave pre-pub 'cos I had to film a video for a job application... Long story.

Russ and I loved it, thanks to everyone who helped look for my missing cleat (that wasn't!) and for fixing it for me. Also cheers for all the encouragement going up (and down!) those hills. What a lovely bunch of peeps you are 🙂

We'll be back and I'll try and be a bit less pathetic next time!

Had a great day out on our first ever pootle. Think Cat enjoyed herself too as she's fast asleep on the sofa now (Thanks for that guys - bit of piece and quiet lol)

We'll be back for the next pootle.

Thanks again to Pook and the gang. Roast dinner didn't touch the sides when I got home. Apologies to those waiting at the bottom while I minced down some bits, my helmet has been safe and warm in the porch all day. One of these I'll make it to a pootle with full working kit. 😳

Sounds good, when do we go? I keep trying to find people that want to ride in a group and push each other, rather than their bikes, and do some good no faff rides.

Pick a date

I'd be up for that! Must be at least 50/60/70 milers, 70% off road.

Great day out with really friendly folk in decent weather.

Thanks to Chris and Jules for guiding, sweeping, bad jokes, photos, video and collecting money for a really good cause.

Looking forward to the next one already.
