Bunny hop - can I buy a pink polka dot peg bag plse? Don't want to hijack the thread but cant figure out how to get one any other way . You have a website?

You certainly can. I have only one left, shall I bring it with me on Saturday?
I have a blog thingy which people usually purchase stuff off, from here: http://emmyjane-design.blogspot.co.uk/

Sorry for hijack folks - as you were.

Date*, walnut and apple cake will be hitting the oven later this afternoon.

That's date* as in the fruit - not 2 people being fixed up on a STW ride, assumptions I know ๐Ÿ˜‰

I can't get there in time for the start but I might try to find you en route - shouldn't be difficult finding that many bikers! I'll def be at the August photo pootle too.

It'd be wrong if I just went to the pub at the end in my biking gear with a few fake mud splashes on my face,... right?

I only live in Leeds, I would have come but it's my BF's birthday today and we're out for shenanigans tonight so I doubt we'll be up that early! I'd be interested in more Peaks rides as it's only an hour away for us though.

I've been on four of these things so far
I've only missed two; the snowy Hayfield one and the Cutgate/last one. I'm always the one in the British Army Camo jacket.

The last time a Pootle went down Pindale I'd waited for Muff to sort a puncture out- we rode down dead-last to see a wave of pootler's stood by the sode of Pindale all the way down changing flats ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

So folks- bring spare tubes!

littlemisspanda Pook etc ride just about every weekend in the Peaks so I don't see a prob in tagging along.

Pook I'll be out again soon but I've got a house to be sorted (ontop of a very difficult office relocation over the past two weeks). Hence why I've been quiet this week.

If you'll add a choice of two descents I'll come. Pindale or Cavedale and meet at the bottom.

DEFINITELY this time though as last time no one else would on the day and I'm not a fan of Pindale..

you mean this?

Contingency: if the ride is bobbins, we're dropping down Cavedale and up and over Mam Tor by a route that will be decided on the day.

That says to me its not a choice of two descents. Just if its raining? Which it wont.

I remember moaning about Pindale last time and having to pass Cavedale. Hmmm. Think I'll do an angryPodge ๐Ÿ˜‰

No, the quote was

If the ride is bobbins

i.e. if it's taking to long, or if the weather is too bad, or if there's another reason. TBH if it's battering down, then Cavedale might not be the best option anyway - limestone is not great to ride in the wet.

Cavedale itself isn't the problem, there will have been so much water down it that it'll just be like a river. The problem is the field above Cavedale which will be a sloppy boggy mess.

By the way, that route is the wrong way round - it's better going UP Jaggers and UP Pindale then and DOWN Mam Tor back to Edale.

I agree with crazy legs. Pindale is a climb not a descent. True though as well- Cavedale will be boggy.

Cavedale is always wet- theres a permanent stream flowing over it.

Only ever done Pindale as a climb once, it was rubbish. Then again I've only ever done Cavedale once, never got the fascination with it. the problem with the suggestion of going UP Jaggers etc is the rest of the route - it needs to be a route that's doable by a large group of poeple with disparate riding abilties in variable weather conditions

this is why routes are not generally opened up to voting.

Is there room for a late addition? Just been told saturdays works being done sunday instead.

Also i'm wondering how physically demanding this route will be, as i'm hoping to take my daughter to the peaks at some stage so i'll make an effort to memorise the route if its not to difficult.

Hmmm ๐Ÿ˜•

the point of the route I suggested was that it avoided Mam Tor, or more specifically Rushup Edge. If we're not climbing chapel gate, then your original route is probalby better.

hey ho, I'll just follow

@Twang if it's that flat she'll probably batter me for taking her somewhere so boring. She'll be hoping for atleast mole hill or two

The top of Rushup edge was a complete bog fest last week, probably more so after a full day of rain. Almost unrideable and hard to push the bike and walk through.
The bog monster is lying in wait to pull your front wheel hub deep into the think black gloop -eeekkkkk.

Pretty please Pook, for the sake of my sanity let's go up Chapel gate.
