Hi all,

I would like to head to the Peak District this Sunday for a ride. Ideally I'd like some natural stuff, as in soil not rocks ๐Ÿ˜‰

Can anyone guide me in the right direction? I understand it's a huge place.

Cheers
Colin

Given the weather, soil will be a deep, sticky, soggy option. The rocks are the best thing about it, especially when the weather is less than kind.

It has absoutely tipped it down here today. A route with soil would be the last thing I would be looking for.

Where abouts? It's a big place. Stick to the dark peak sunday, look for rockier routes. Something like the kinder loop which is free to download here:

I'll be doing something loosely based around that on Sunday, hopefully shouldn't be to grim.

Think part of that route may be closed Nick while the DCC work on destroying it ๐Ÿ˜ณ

Not closed, just in a mess! Plenty of riders coming down RE today, I climbed it and even managed to clean all the new crap to be defeated by the same single step they haven't touched that always gets me... ๐Ÿ™

Did you get out Colin? Great day for it if a bit damp in places...

Up visiting family in Nottingham at the weekend and hoping to get a ride in on Friday.. currently looking at the Kinder loop (as mentioned above) or maybe the Hit The Hills Epic route. Is the latter likely to be ok to ride given a dry(ish) week ahead?

If anyone's out riding in the area on Friday and fancies some company / doesn't mind me following them, drop me a line...

Should be fine.

There's a few of us doing Edale/Hollins/Rushup/Roych Clough/Mount Famine/Jacobs/Edale on Sat - is the contentious super-smooth highway that used to be the nice end of Rushup Edge (DCC are*holes) open now?

Still closed. There's a big meeting tomorrow with DCC and mountain bike groups about it

There's no way of getting from Mam Nick to just after the bodged bit without roading it to get to the RH run towards Roych Clough is there? Hmm...might have to have a rethink of a new route.

Not that I would condone breaking an official closure but i think some people have been riding it.

You could head over Oxlow, Perry foot way. Further, but you get the op to visit the No Car cafe at Rushop Hall before regaining Rushup edge.

Not knowing the area, which bit has actually suffered from the resurfacing (and how long)?

Presumably it would be quite quiet on, say, a Friday? ๐Ÿ˜‰
