Bank transfer

I always use bank transfer.

How do you operate a bank transfer guys, and at what point does the gear change hands? I'm unsure how you avoid being stitched up?

I assume your buying, so you'll need to supply name, account number and sort code.

Selling they need to supply you these obviously.

I'd post out asap when the money clears and is in the account, which is normally the same day.

If your paying I'm afraid you just have to take them on their word that they are genuine and wait for it once you've paid.

Ask them to email you once it's cleared and when you can expect to receive it.

Either way, I always make sure i keep them informed either way.

At least you'll know who they are, where they bank etc . . .

worth searching posts to see if they are a regular poster or not too.

Thanks. Actually I'll be doing a bit of both I expect, and it appears that some degree of trust is required, but as you say, at least you'll have more than just a name to follow up with.
