I am doing the SDW on Friday / Saturday and am driving to Winchester, but am unsure what the parking situation is in Winchester and where best to leave the car?
Plenty of residential parking around Highcliffe like petersfield rd etc. Or if you would rather pay there are places in town like tower street and you can pay over the phone to renew it
Park and ride car park? The St Catherine's one is really close to the center and close to J10 on the M3. Can pay over the phone which may deal with the multiple days issue.

Little layby opposite the park and ride is where I always used to park...
Petersfield road at the start of SDW path.
Cheesefoot head ? A few miles out, but downhill to the start. No meters.
Ride out?
Superfli is right, I park there every day with no issues.
