Hi all my bikes out of action for 3 to 5 weeks wating for parts and was thinking about giving it a coat of paint wile I wait as it a 2001 cannondale and show its age. And im board of the the colour as iv had it 11 years. Just wondering if anyones has done it them selfs if so so us your results and tips thanks
Don't
1) Paint your frame with high VOC hammerite in a tiny Halls of Residence bedroom you can touch both walls by standing up. I did not notice at first but the fumes were so bad I had to move out for a number of nights....although that wasn't too bad, except the frame looked like a dogs dinner.
Do
1) Walk away from paint and ride it instead. You will ruin any resale.
The time and money spent on prep and paint would be better spent on getting someone to do a £30 blast and powdercoat, with better results too
