So,
First drop bar road bike acquired and I seem to be suffering from really painful elbow joints during/after rides.
I'm old (40) and average 30 miles jaunts. I've noticed that I do tend to ride with arms fully extended so close to being locked out.
Anyone else come up against this? Is there an easy solution? I'm concerned about doing long term damage and wonder if it's a seat height/angle issue or if it's a dodgy joint issue. Never suffered on the MTB mind........
Any thoughts?

Position fiddling may help. I had severe issues and a lift of the bars sorted it. I also consumed vast quantities of Devils Claw.
