tried lots og recommendations on comfort efforts ei, eat angle and eight ect but cant seem to get things just right so im gunna have a go at padded shorts,
anyone got any recomendations,
either base layer or outer wear,
thanks In advance
bibs are more comfy
try zipvit ones or CCUK for cheap and good (zipvit are great but a bit lairy for me 😯 - I wear under baggies though)
Howies are the comfiest I've ever sat my ass in, in over 30 years of riding bikes
Recently got a pair of Endura FS 260 Pro Gel shorts which are very comfy. Bit expensive at #50 but worth every penny IMO.
Assos are the only ones to buy.
For budget bibs I like lusso pro gel but for longer days out I have some spesh rbx pro ones that are very comfy but twice the price of the lusso.
I picked up a pair of padded shorts in a Lidl sale earlier in the year and they're great. I wear them under a normal pair of shorts. Cheap and cheerful.
im in stitches,
every single one of you have recommended something different,, LOL
Them gel shorts do sound comfortable though,
deffo need a pair because I get put of doing anything over 15 to 17 miles at the moment !
cheers peeps,
really appreciate it !
Look on Amazon for some Gore padded undershorts to go with whatever you're wearing (I use them for commuting). Alternatively check your current riding shorts are just that and don't have daft seams where they will chafe. I've just ordered some from On One for £9 but they've not arrived so I can't vouch for them like I can the Gore ones.
The sensible answer is to say wear some proper padded Lycra shorts and use some Chamois cream really......
Don't buy shorts with gel pads, they will make your bum sweat and chafe you. dhb shorts from Wiggle are excellent value and the pads are good but not too squidgy.
My gel lusso shorts ended up with no gel in the places that needed gel so unusable now.
Zipvit shorts are great but just missed a sale for them.
Craft bibshorts - just to be different.
Dhb bibshorts work well, I have a pair of the middley 45ish ones and they were plenty comfy for 100+ miles and various other more mountainbikey things too. Possibly with baggies. The big advantage with bibs is round your lumbar once you start building big climbing muscles. When I'm in shape I love them for not pinching like shorts and liners can't help but do.
Spesh Trail shorts are my all time fave for regular baggies. They hardly ever turn up in the UK for sensible money. Apparently they're dirt cheap in the states. Next time I see any cheap I'm buying a few...
I hate every Enduro liner I've ever ridden but the actual shorts are usually ok if a little random on sizing.
I've come to the conclusion that liners for shorts are a personal choice. What your mate loves may torture you.
Tbh, right now I'm mostly wearing Decathlon running tights though with an SDG Bel Air.
The chamois pad is meant to be to wick sweat that would make you chafe. It's not meant to be a cushion to sit on...
