in 12 days i,m taking my bike to oz.i,ve got the bike bag and loads of bubble wrap.i,m gonna take rear mech off and pedals and handlebar and loosen bolts on brakes and gear shifters.anything else i should do ???

Reduce tyre pressures in case thay explode in the hold with the pressure change (or is it a myth that this can happen?)

strip it and make sure its spotless new tyres etc they're very anal about any mud or dirt......it should look like its rolled out of the showroom 😉

Yes, wash your tyres. Then go over them with a microscope and a pair of tweezers.
Also, I always brace the dropouts with something (I use an old QR with a plastic tube).

I spent hours cleaning my bike for a trip to NZ, but forgot about the mud in my bag, they just sprayed it with something.
