So what does everyone think people will be paying top dollar for on Ebay in 2025?
Will it be original in-breds? Will it be Tune cranks?
Come on what will the yoof of today be harking back to and wanting to buy when they are 45 and feeling nostalgic.....

the inbred could be, again if it was a mint example, unridden. I could see that being quite valuable (esp. in relation to it's original cost...)

Id say a Jones as much as there not my taste its unusual enough and expensive enough to prohibit it to a few examples.

hmmm interesting...based on the past experiences and personal taste one retro bike philosphy / crtitera could be something along the lines of
what i wished i rode then BITD / Halcyon era of riding (choose a date),
what could actually ride / afford ... then elevate these aspirational / inspirational frames to near mythical machines of yore / right now
= phuture classics...
Clearly this ain't quite correct...but it seems to be how the trend works.
As to future classics...have no ideas really but something prehaps something by Orange (popular) or Foes (similar engineering ethic but more boutique / exspensive)
1. exemplary cutting edge frame designs
2. people who make their own stuff , in their own workshops (probably out of metal)
3. what's good now...is good in the future...it certainly was in the past
I think some people are confusing "classic" with "expensive" here....
Remember, one of, if not THE most sought after classics are old steel Konas, and they were never that expensive. Its the same in the car world. The cars that people still love and cherish, the ones they make magazines for - Minis, Landrovers, Ford Escorts, Fiat 500s,aircooled VWs......
If the original Inbred goes out of production as it seems it will, that's a sure fire classic. Even now a used frame sells for waaaay more, percentage of new price wise, than just about any frame out there. I only lost £30 on one I sold and people were lining up for it.
I think the original Spesh Enduro has pretty much reached classic status already too.

I might as well say Orange 5 before someone else does. Personally I'd say something like the 06 Enduro has got as much right to the 'classic' title as anything else. Basically a bike that moved things on, which you can't get any more. I don't get all this anal 'must be mint' stuff. Only a very odd person would consider buying a mountain bike they didn't want to ride. They are never going to be a genuine investment. Good thing too. USE IT or sell it to someone who will, IMO.
Component wise, middleburn cranks and hope hubs seem to hold value.
Will SRAM XX become a future classic?
Whats the equivalent of the excuisite CNC machined brakes that I drooled over in 1994?
