Re my rc 41 spring forks. Anyone know of a cheaper spring option to soften my forks. Pace spares are very expensive. Please ,i don't want to change forks. I have 3 pairs of pace forks and am otherwise happy with them
RC41 are air. Do you not mean RC40?
For 20 quid or so - it looks as if you may be able to cobble together something equivalent from RS spring spares.

I've cut non-compatible fork springs down to length before - using similar bodgingness can't-handle-Pace-spares-price approaches to this kind of stuff. As long as the internal diameter of the fork is similar, you should be okay(ish).
Hi all. The forks are rc 41 available in spring and air I believe!
Thanks re rs tip. I agree pace are out of touch with reality ,with their pricing. I just got some alternative wiper seals from a local bearing supplier.I'll teport back
Rc41 were only air. The spring version was the rc40. If you're are spring then they are rc40s (unless someone coverted a set of 41s for some reason).
Great forks though. Always liked the 2 sets of 40s I had and also the dtswiss version.
A curve ball option would be air conversion. I've a set of dtswiss exc150 that have light stanchion wear that you might be able to transfer the air side from.
Hi Very confusing I thought the Fighter model was the rc41
RC40 and RC41 XCAM
RC40 and RC41 Fighter
My other pair are air xcam I am sure they can be converted as I have both sets of lowers together . they are nigh on identical! Re rc 40's The weaker spring will be my only option unless the offered are very cheap I'm an ex Northener
I have a set of these coil sprung (not sure of name offhand rc40 or 41!) with both medium and soft springs suitable only for spares. Drop me an email crossriderjules AT gmail DOT com if any help?

The Fighters are longer travel 140 or 150mm I think as apposed to 130mm.
Says on the legs of the spring forks "Fighter" they areI believe 130 travel. The air pair have more travel. to much for my intended bike!
Fighters are 150mm max. Xcam 130max. Air are fixed* travel. Coil are adjustable 100-130 for xcam and I think 120-150 for fighters. The left leg is the spring. It should have a top cap you can turn. This adjusts the travel in 3mm increments.
* They can both be temporarily lowered with the launch control.
Op, if the springs offered above don't work out drop me an email about the dtswiss forks.
My air forks are limited edition 57 x cam .They have more travel than the fighters that I have! Very confusing I can only tell what I see.
I do know about the adgustable travel on the springs !I use it to reign it to 100 travel. 130 is to much for the bike they are on!
Just an update on the RC41 air forks. They are back in service now after fitting a steel steerer tube and quick check, over clean up and new oil.
I had forgot how good they are! I had some rc 36ers on the hard tail they were good and light but the 41's are much better, definate evolution there!. Just waiting for the lighter springs to put in my rc 40's then they will be reinstalled on my unloved full suss!
Anybody want any tipps on changing the steerer's ."Alloy ones crack"
