Has anyone got any advice for me?
My commute is from north Oxfordshire, to Cowley. I've been going straight through Kidlington, down the Banbury Road, around Parks road and Longwall, and up the Iffley road.
It's about 20 miles, but going through oxford is super slow, buses, traffic lights, people everywhere.
Is there a better route? I don't mind a couple of extra miles if I don't have to constantly stop and start.
From the roundabout at the top of Banbury road, take the cycle path alongside the ring road all the way around to the BMW factory. You'll have to cross a few roads (three I think), and it might add a couple of miles, but the path itself is pretty wide and reasonably surfaced, so it should be quicker than going through town.
Yes I wondered about that route. So it's the Cutteslowe roundabout, I wasn't sure what the path was like from there to the Headington roundabout.
I do that route from BMW up to the roundabout at the top of banbury and down into summertown on my commute. Nice and quick only a couple of junctions to cross as said. Not so much a problem now clocks have gone back but the ring road isn't lit fro certain sections so a good light is useful
