[Closed] Overshoes, which ones?

I just buy them whenever Lidl/Aldi are doing them. There may well be better out there but they do get a hard life so I don't want to spend a lot and they do the job.

Planet X Neoprene overshoes. £10, fairly tough so should last a while.

The Endura neoprene ones are superb. Use them all winter on the road bike. And a fair bit of autumn and spring. And summer. The joys of riding in Scotland.

Endura FS260. The slick ones, not neoprene. I reckon on one year of use out of them but they're great while they last. These can be had for about £22, they're super light and pack down well and they're waterproof.

What pedals and shoes are you using? Different ones for different combinations.

+1 for the planet x velcro neoprene ones. No zips to gunk up and durable enough for a winter or 2. Often £5 for extra cheapness too.

The ones with velcro closures, zips gum up and corrode, stretchy ones only stretch so much...

Oh and oversocks are worth a try for coldish dry days they trap a bit of heat, but breath a bit better...

Neoprene makes my feet clammy. I use fleece lined fabric overshoes from dhb.

So for your budget OP:

Two pairs of these (always worth having a dry pair on standby...

And maybe give a pair of these whirl for less extreme weather as they're only a couple of quid (they won't last forever)...

Any cheap ones without a zip. Velcro only. Zips are a silly idea on overshoes. And buying expensive ones is even more silly.

If it's for the road, the best thing I've ever bought is the endura slip-ons - just stretchy neoprene, no zip, no velcro. Superb!

Endura all the way, plus some Castelli toe thingys for autumn days.

BBB heavy duty for me; I think I got two years out of my first pair and have just broken out a fresh set.

Nothing to add, but thanks for the reminder that I need new ones. I have a pair of black ones in the cupboard but I need a pair of yellow for commuting in.

Yep, this. They're not overly exciting but certainly do the job and last OK too. And pick up a pair of toe-caps too, brilliant for not full overshoe but need something to take the edge off weather.
