Do overshoes only fit over SPD-style cycling shoes, or would they fit over normal trainers?

I have DMR V12's - would the pins on the pedal rip the elastic strap that goes under your shoe?

Why? If you are on flats and want warm, dry feet get warmer shoes, try your walking boots.

I'm guessing they will rip/casue slippage. Maybe get some seal skin waterproof socks, or those new sparkly Teva Links aquaphobic shoes.

I've got a pair of Agu overshoes designed to work with non-spd typey pedals. They're fairly tough on the bottom, I've used 'em with my Shimano DX pedals for years - but not on a daily basis, just for the odd commute when it's p1ssing down.
