I've managed to over-tighten my QR release on the front wheel - it's a boost. When I came to get it off again, the level just went loose and wouldn't grip, then it the bolt inside the lever unscrewed itself. Looking at a mess? Any ideas to get it off? I've tried pliers on the actual thing, but that just spins around and doesn't grip the actual through-bolt. The tension seems to come from the smaller 'skewer' which is normally attached to the QR handle. I don't mind destorying the through-bolt, as it's wreaked anyway, but obviously not being able to remove the front wheel will at some point be a bit of a downer.

Cheers,
FM

Telling people what fork it is might help.

Hi - it's a steel fork rigid fork. I'll post some pictures later.

when you say QR, you're making it sound like a 12 or 15mm through axle with the "smaller skewer" bit

If it's a through axle then it's (probably) screwed into the opposite drop-out to where the lever is. Is there a hole you can punch a torx key into (or could you drill a hole) ?

Mate you're a legend! The torx key worked a treat - saved me a mission to the LBS many thanks!
