I have a smart turbo which I use when its pants outside. Have just bought a C2 with PM5. Want to lose a few lbs and assume intervals are best if done regularly. Has anyone any tips re rest and duration of intervals or effectice tricking of the body to burn fat?

Cheers

The guides and interactive programmes on here will tell you everything you need to know. Free as well.

I use the Pete Plan when I have periods of time to get into rowing. You can follow it or cherry pick some of the sessions. 8 x 500m with 3.5 min rest intervals is my favourite. I find it helps a lot with my mtb fitness as well.

only use my C2 for warmups/cooldowns when lifting weights now since getting a smart turbo & Zwift! When I did use it for intervals though I just did "tabata" style (20s full chat, 10s recovery, 8 sets, vomit)

Given limited time I'd always now choose a Zwift sesh as it's more fun & more relevant to cycling (obviously!) however I can still see the appeal of the erg for more "all round" fitness.

tbh although obviously there is crossover I focus on diet for losing weight & exercise for fitness and try to keep the two separated to some extent (i.e. I wouldn't be looking at exercises specifically to lose weight).
