a pair of size 8 fell running shoes fit in fine with room to spare. Hope this helps.

If it's any help Carradice do a 5 litre waterproof saddlebag, the CarraDry SQR Glentress.
Around the same price as well

I had to trim my size 11 flip flops to make them fit in the Ortlieb. (I told my flatmate I was doing it to save weight, I think he believed me...)
