I have ordered from R2 before , but the value has always been under £135. I'm looking to order a 1 x 12 groupset upgrade approx £250 > would i be better off splitting the order or buy in one go. Splitting cost difference is £14 approx.
Cheers

Be wary of customs fees. I got a load of Shimano groupset stuff at a very good price there and it ended up more expensive than uk online sellers by the time HMRC whipped me for £70 odd.

I always split it from r2bike, they are very good at filling in the forms, like above don't get 'stung'

I just got stung by customs, was a £200 order. And yes the irony of if subsequently costing more than a UK placed order was not lost on me.

The only time I've been caught is when I applied an R2 discount voucher to something which took it just below the VAT threshold but they declared the full price and I got a customs/VAT charge. I think they hadn't charged German VAT on the original price as it was above the threshold, the discount was then applied at checkout so without charges it would've dodged both tax men and I'm not that lucky.

The import fees and vat on £250 will be a lot more than £14

I split an order from R2 bike a few months ago, actually did my maths wrong and still ended up with part of it over the threshold....No charges though so was well happy!

I've split orders in the past with no issues, I only order from r2 if it's less than £135 (Inc postage) now.
