I'm rebuilding up my heckler at the mo after its nice new painjob and have noticed the crown race is split on my Pikes ๐Ÿ˜ฎ as in its split itself

Question is as i have a spare, Is the crown race the Gold split piece or is it the one piece bit that is bust?

The gold bit is the compression ring.

the gold bit isnt the crown race. the crown race is the ring of metal that goes over the steerer of the forks and what the bearings run on.

Normally on XL2's the crown race should be a split piece aswell, unless its a dead old one

So i need to fit my spare crown race then, I thought it was right how it was, must have been under a bit of stress to crack like it has.

Mine must be an older version too although it was only bought 9 months back from winstanleys, I thought reading the instructions back when i fitted it it was odd but never thought anything of it as it seemed normal and to go on easy enough.

Thanks for helping me out on that ๐Ÿ™‚

It will probably be ok once its all clamped together, if you have a spare you may aswell use that though
