[#9982568]

So Im another orange lover.   Having had my stage 5 about 6 weeks its a complete love affair. bikes just so much fun!      Only issue im noticing is that I am pedal striking every where,    up down smooth flat.     sags set at 30 % and cranks are 175 on the XL frame.   anyone else had similar problem and how did they get past it?   more air pressure?   shock spacers,  shorter cranks?    interested in feedback

Low BB, same as my transition. You get used to it!

As above, you learn to pedal differently through lumps. Took a few weeks but I don't notice it now.

Check you’ve got enough low speed compression if you’re getting too much pedal bob, other than that you’ll change riding style soon enough!

You could go to a 170mm crank and probably not notice, otherwise smaller pedals or don't pedal over bumps. I had a similar adjustment to make when I got a new lower bike but it's still a bit of a pain on narrow rutty trails. Just one of the cons of the lower BB

It's all the rage for Enduro style riding, "long, low and slack". I suppose there is no perfect geometry for every occasion. The excellent downhill and climbing tendencies of modern geo have to have some disadvantages on some terrain and disciplines.

Yeah - this happened to me when I got my Four. You get used to it and make allowances.

Was having same issues with my Four. Running 25% sag on a Monarch RT3, 165mm cranks and now keeping it in Pedal setting and all is fine.

You don't *have* to run 30% sag.  It's just a suggested starting point.  Run what feels good.

I pedal strike on the Patriot unless the ramp-up dial is set to 4 out of 4.

Interestingly, by far the worst place for pedal strikes is Penhydd at Afan.  They seem to have designed the trail as pedally with lots of ups and downs that suited the bikes at the time.  Now I feel like pedalling more to keep the speed up to modern levels but I can't through all the little troughs in the trail.  Modern trails seem to have bigger features and be steeper.
