New in May , on my third set of bb30 bearings, is there any way of preventing water sitting on the bearing?

Ive had a similar problem initially thought it was due to preload or I had the seal washer in the wrong way, now given up and gone back to a sram gpx

Clear the hole, enlarge the hold, or property the bike so the hole is at the lowest point during storage.

You say Hope cranks but what bottom bracket is it?

What is it killing the bearings? Do they seize, or show excessive play or just feel notchy.

Has the bottom bracket been faced?

Might be alignment, as Rick above is also thinking, possibly not water ingress.

I have a Stage 5 with Hope 30mm BB and Hope cranks, not had an issue with the bearings to be honest. I recently replaced the bearings as they were about a year old now. Mine had an issue with the BB thread in the frame, one side needed re-threading.

bikes a year old and im on my second pair which i dont think is too bad considering how shitty last winter was.

worrying that you have only had yours since May, and May - July this year was the driest in a  million years!!

My Hope And XT HTII bearings last years.

Is 2 or 3 sets a year really reasonable?
