My friend is about to buy one of these but has asked me if he should pay £200 for Pikes over Fox Rhythm 34s. Unfortunately I've had neither so cannot comment. Can anyone help? In addition, he is looking for a fun 29 hardtail so is there anything else he should consider? He's got some skills and is like Tigger on a bike.

I'd pay the extra for a Pike myself, think the Rhythm Fox 34s are a bit on the porky side.
The Crush 29 seems a bit short, but otherwise looks like a cool bike.
