[#12111698]

Looking to upgrade from my Orange crush and go back to a full suspension frame - I used to ride an Orange 5 so thinking of the Alpine Evo frame as it means I can keep my 160mm shocks.

My only concern in climbing ability - I don’t want something that’s going to be a real pig on the uphill but can’t find much in the way of user reviews…

Anyone riding an alpine evo and have any views?

Gone are the days when a FS is rubbish climbing.

This is true, I loved my 5. It was more specifically the Alpine evo as it has more travel

I’d get the 5 frame but would need a new pair of forks which, although I can make it work with “man logic”, it doesn’t work financially!!

I've got a 2020 Stage 5 and the steep seat tube makes it a great climber. Sure The Alpine will be the same tbh.

So I went for the Apline Evo - epic bike!!

Finished the build and may have had to throw in a new pair of forks and X01 AXS at the same time!!
Alpine Evo

Tried to post a pic but can’t get that not working!!

Is reducing the travel of your forks possible to give you more optiond ?

Probably not if he's only just bought an alpine evo frame (and some new forks) 🙂

Thanks for getting the pic working Nickjb (what was I doing wrong out of interest?)

My worries on rear suspension bob are completely gone - the Cane Creek shock is awesome (so far) and while the uphills are slower than on my Crush that’s to be expected but not to a huge extent - the downhill is certainly more fun!!
