Hi looking for some opinions from Orange 5AM and Alpine owners!
Im considering both at the moment. Im located in Glasgow and spend most of my time (3-4 nights/weekend days a week) on local trails (mugdock) and glentress, ae and inners (so lucky!)
I demo-ed the blood and 5AM at the orange Lake district demo this weekend. Didn't get on with the blood (it only had a 140mm fork) but loved the 5AM for climbing and on the down it felt awesome with that lovely 160mm float. However I didn't get a shot of the alpine.
The alpine weighs in at 32lbs out the box (so im told) though unsure of how much the 5AM weighs. I think the 5 would be great at all though think it may be less of a thrill at inners compared to the alpine.
Whats the weight difference in the two? How will the alpine climb in comparison to the 5AM? Im sure the 5AM would be great at all but I don't want to over bike myself. I dont mind slogging it up the hill if the descent makes up for it.
I have a specialized pitch and sc bullit at the moment and would like to get down to one bike (one bike to clean, store and maintain).
Opinions please!
