Hello, thinking of lightening up the front end of my hardtail, currently running fox floats. I've seen Pace RC39 c-type and the DT swiss xrc 100 forks kicking around, and are about 300g lighter. But are they any good? Not a huge amount of review information available on the internet so hoping people with experience could tell me their opinions of the forks.

VERY good. They're superbly plush, far superior to fox (who are superior to all others) but they're not as stiff as 32mm lowered fox forxs.

I went from Sids to 39's to F100's. The 39's were good but mine needed serviced every 6 months. They are pretty flexy compared to the fox but a little stiffer than original sids (and you can actually get full travel unklike the old sids!), and the damping is poor compared to the fox. They can be very plush (if your lucky and get a good pair, or service them often) compared to the Sids, about the same as fox but i found they tended to either blow through the travel to quickly or not use enough, despite endless fiddling with pressures.

I've had several sets of RC39's and loved them till I tried the Magura Durins which are outstanding! (in my opinion)

I've got 39s, they are good. Mine only need servicing every 12 months, so dunno what's up there. They are surprisingly plush and active. I run them firm, but they're 80mm forks so that's to be expected. No negatives really. Very light too. Not tried the Maguras, but I've tried old SIDs and they were awful.

Beware of the older RC39s with the gold stanchions tho - my mate had serious trouble with them. But then he didn't listen very closely to Pace I don't think.

Where are RC39 c-types available?
