I've been offered a bike by a good mate and i'm after some opinions on what its worth:
It's a Carrera Banshee 2013:

He wants 400 for it, and i'm going to look at it and try it out tonight. He bought it on cycle to work and from what I can tell he hasnt really used it.
I've just sold my Hardrock which I was happy with and this would be my first FS bike.

£400 would seem reasonable for 1 yr old hardly used, but.............he may not actually own the bike unless he has paid the scheme 'get out' amount at the end of the term, I would be wanting proof this has been done before handing over any money

You'll basically be hiring the bike from your employer in exchange for a small amount of your salary being taken over a monthly basis. It'll be deducted over a 12 or 18 months, depending on what works best for your budget.
Thats a good point about the 'get out' thing, ill ask him about it. I'm not worried about getting ripped off that way anyway since he's a good mate.
