Has anyone got any experience of the acolyte 8 spd drive train. 11 to 46t cassette, shifter and clutch mech currently at £74 all in. My Eagle gx system is failing and looking to replace. Attracted by the simplicity of 8 spd and avoidance of eye watering eagle prices.

Last time I looked at Microshift stuff about a year ago there didn't seem to be much around.

No experience of the 8 speed, but my wide range 9 speed Microshift Advent set up has been great. A bit clunky on shifting but I came from SRAM so that's not an issue.
have Microshift 7speed on my commuter and it's been trouble free. It's a wee bit agricultural but it works fine
My reservations would be gear spacing on an 11-46 8-speed cassette and whether, as a cheaper item, the cogs are mounted on spiders or individually with spacers (the latter can muller aluminium freehubs). I have a Microshift 11-speed bar end shifter on a bike that works fine, no fears on them as a brand.
I have the Advent X 10 speed on my Scandal and so far so good. I need to tweak the indexing a bit and as above its got a solid thunk kind of shift which coming from Shimano feels a little agricultural but I actually quite like.
Kidsracing stock it as well if CRC struggle.
Looks good, but i think the cassette is 12-46, so loses a chunk of range? Pretty much the same as 11-42?
I was eyeing it up the other day, very interesting as I'm needing to look at replacing my old Deore 10 speed mech, the cost of a new Shimano Mech plus a new Cassette is pretty much the same as the whole new Acolyte setup (Mech/Cassette/Shifter).
To note the Acolyte Cassette is 12-46 not an 11-46 (but you could probably substitute the smallest sprocket or find an alternative Cassette.
Apparently the Acolyte group is pitched more towards kids bikes, but I see no reason it couldn't be used for an adults bike and/or with a 3rd parties Cassette.
