I'm looking to buy a lamp/torch to mount on my lid. Does anyone have an opinion on the following.

I've already got a magicshine on my bars which is working out ok.
If anyone has any alternatives post them up, but keep in mind I'm on a budget.
I think for the money, you really can't go wrong with that DX XML bike light you have linked to above.
I've got the XPG version with the all-metal finned housing from Spokeshirts last year and for a helmet light it's great.
I think that a few people have bought the XML version of the light that you link to above & said it has a bright centre spot that falls away. Someone else might be able to confirm that, but that might not be ideal.
I'd go with the proper light, not the torch.
It actually works out lighter on your head as you can put the battery in a jersey pocket or bag (buy an extension lead).
