whats your favourite piece of singletrack you ever rode.
mines a local section through holly bushes that goes on and on.

no short list. just one! 😀
About 6 foot of trail that goes from dirt to rock and takes a sharp left then right, slightly uphill and tight round a tree, under tree cover, on the banks of the river Wear.
It's the first time I ever felt like I was mountain biking when I was about 12.

Mine's a downhill section in my local woods: starts with steep steps,then tight switch backs and then into a fast rooty section and finishes with a rocky section. Fairly precarious in winter but a real flyer when dry.
I could tell you but I'd have to kill you, and everyone else which would significantly reduce bob mine and Jedi's customer base 😉

Westringa descent. Hobart, tassie. Just got back. Unfortunately it's too short 🙁
Another can't/won't give away where, but it's called fannywhackers and its a half mile tight steep rocky and rooty wooded downhill, a mix of sphincter clenching techy bits and flat out lightening fast straights into blind switchbacks. Never muddy even in the depths of winter and as grippy as if you are riding on the sticky side of duct tape in the summer. It's a little slice of pure heaven 8)
Its probably because its home and probably because I miss it as I'm patiently waiting for an ankle to heal but I'm going for Woburn
If go down the Sandy lane single track all the way and then turn sharp left and climb steeply back up. My favourite bit starts from the right onto single track to the car park and then the next section as well. I think its called "Tripey Trucker"
I apologise for my lack of imagination and yes I could have thought of some thing more exotic. But its how I feel right now
Locally, its a bit of wooded cheeky known as Fisherman's Walk. A couple of minutes of twisty, rooty, off-camber fun. Works equally well ridden in either direction too.
Other than that it would (possibly bizarrely) be The Beast at Thetford. Granted the rest of the place can be a bit meh, but The Beast has a bit of everything (except massive gradient obviously) and is brilliant when you ride it flat out.
Does that count as two?

Possibly the first time I rode Minton Batch in the Long Mynd, in the pissing rain and nackered due to my bike having no granny ring 🙂

Drum and bass in Champery.
Maybe the middle section of the Mega main track as it traverses along the hillside to ADH.
Cumberland clough Macclesfield forest or Skiddaw down the front.
I have found nothing in the UK or abroad more enjoyable than the "Old DH Track", in Rowberrow Wood, when in dry condition. The grade and technicality is old-skool DH which means it's nu-skool trail riding.
It offers just the right balance of rough vs flow and some necky bits where you have plan your entry speed and line. Rode it this morning - love it.
There's a section on STRAVA called "the best single track in the world" in Kent. That, but the footpath to the left at the top with the rock slab and the steps in it 🙂
That or Blaca Moor before it was famous. Went back recently and it's just not as goof as I remembered it.

I still think it's ace. Great climb up to the top, apart from a short road section to link two off road ones, singletrack from top to bottom.

Anyway, got any more photos of the Gorge du Verdon?
Still my 200 yards as featured in either the 1st or 2nd Singletrack Magazine.
Starts off fast, rocky and open with water bars, heads into the trees where it gets twisty and blind, then proper loose rocky stuff, a big jump through a stile followed by a landing onto off camber cobbles and more water bars. Couple of bermed corners and it leads to a fast wide, rocky road with bars.
Love it!
Non uk I would have to say Crank It Up in Whistler is the funnest trail I've ever ridden, its just awesome. Not really singletrack though I suppose. For that, Too Tight gets it.
Malverns, finishing off with the drop-off in the Conservators' yard at the Wyche cutting.
Bin Combe. Absolutely fantastic track, even the fallen tree half way down can't spoil it
A wonderful stage of the Trans Provence that is just one long loamy, flowy descent for hundreds of vertical meters, never felt that way before or since. at the end of a descent. It's given me a massive grin just thinking about it. Thank you.
An er, um, "cheeky" little track that falls down the side of a small stream in a deep cleft in East Dartmoor. You join it from a switchback on a tarmac road, down a steep narrow slidey chute, then you get about 1km of constant descending, and it's a nice balance between techy-balance-narrow-gnaar and let-off-the-brakes and jump everything speed.
It's made more special by having about 3 separate places where you have a choice between:
1) stopping, getting off and lifting your bike over a deep gulley
or
2) pulling off a ballsy bunny hop at some speed
When you get option 2) just right it feels fab, when you don't you fly OTB in some style....... 😉

Only one:
It's cheeky so not going to name it. 1/2 mile of flowy leaf mulchy trail through beautiful woodland that epitomises Surrey Hills riding for me. Mid-gradient descent in the middle for variety, run out off camber and rooty with a usually healthy bog at the end, pub around the corner. Never the same twice.
We're very lucky.
Did a lovely bit of singletrack in the Sierra Nevada, was mostly rideable, scared myself quite a lot and had to stop twice. Excellent fun.
Petra's Gash on Cannock Chase is a favourite. 🙂
Whittington Woods, little trail that skirts the back of the Golf Course is another favourite.
Never seen another tyre track.
This is fairly local to me and I get to ride it a few times a year. Not my video but you get an idea of the singletrack and my favourite section is around 2.20. Unfortunately the dudes in the video are riding it in the wrong direction.
The Thin Red Line, Sainte Foy. A very local stretch of narrow, fast, twisty Alpine forest singletrack. There are plenty of other trails which are longer, techier, steeper, smoother, whatever. But it just does it for me, every time.

I've always loved DH3 at Aston hill. So fast and fun. But recently the start of the north loop at whinlatter was just great. I know there both quite man made but hey, I guess I like that

In the UK, can't decide. Locally the Alistair Lees at Innerleithen maybe, further away the Kennels trail at Kinlochleven. Maybe rose coloured as I've ridden these both as race stages and things tend to take on a more epic tinge when you're breathing out your arse...
Dragons Back, CYB. Not necessarily the best, but at that time, in those conditions, on that bike, with those mates. It was cracking.
