[#1392935]

Advice please.

It's an 18 month old Tricross used for commuting
Cheap mass produced parts but tensioned evenly and built well (even if I do say so myself)
One spoke went ping or the ride home tonight. I can't remember the last time I snapped a spoke on anything!

Is it the beginning of the end and I should just re-lace the thing with proper spokes

or

Am I being paranoid and I should just replace the one that snapped and get on with things?

Option one or option two? I can't decide; it's up to you.

For one spoke i'd just replace it. You could be missing 4-5 and you'd be fine on the road.

If you get a few more going in the next couple of weeks then think about replacing the lot, otherwise everything will be fine.

Must be a really crap rim as with one spoke gone, I've had to loosen the brakes to get the wheel to turn. Good training though, riding against that drag!

But pies taste good and they're the only thing that cheers me up when my bike breaks.
