Looking for a new hardtail but cant decide between the above. Riding is a bit of everything including trail centres (wales/scotland), peaks/lakes xc trips, evening blasts in the woods, chicksands/aston/woburn etc. Forks are coil u-turn pikes.

do you wind the forks down for general use, how does it climb?

Going off where you say you ride, which is pretty much the same as me, I would get the SS. You'll love it 😛

I only wind the forks down if it's a long climb, like Carding Mill Valley ^^^^ apart from stuff like that I don't bother. Just buy one you won't regret it. 😉
