I have a scandal 29er.

Its its built up 1x9 with Drake 100mm forks currently. It had rigid carbons and SS before that. Recently fitted Stans Flow rims. These are great and inflated non-tubeless tyres with a track pump first go (Ardent 29er 2.4)

I dunno, adding heavy forks and gears has taken something away from the setup. Less grins per mile I think.

Have had the full set, scandal, steel and Ti at some point or other, brilliant ride and very capable. Mine is currently set up as SS with rebas, has had gears in the past(both full xt 27 speed and alfine). Very good on big long open country type riding and requires a bit more effort to get round tighter corners as found at trail centres but still managable.
