Feel sorry for Froome, again! In any other year he would be heralded as the legend he probably deserves to be seen as!

not only that - at least now he will be remembered as the winner of the 2012 TDF and 2012 olympic TT - and not as the british press love to do remembered as the guy who lost the olympics.

Sir Bradley Wiggins, and SPOTY with Dave Brailsford to get a Sir Hood as well.

so who's better? redgrave for 5 golds or wiggins for 7 medals?
Seems to be some differences of opinion

If you take into account everything else i think Wiggo wins by a mile simply because of the TdF win.

If you do it by points 3 gold 2 silver 1 bronze then wiggins has 16 points and Redgrave has 16 points.

TDF is a big plus but redgrave has won a lot of WC stuff too.

(mind you redgrave has retired wiggo still got a few years yet hopefully)

Only reason I ask is the TT coverage were saying greatest british sportsman, cut to BBC1 who said second greatest behind redgrave.

Awesome stuff. He's a legend.
Excellent effort from Froome as well, hope he gets the recognition he deserves for what he's done in the last year.

Redgrave needed teammates ๐Ÿ˜‰
brad has won every time he rode without a team

Pointless debate really TBH - tomorrow we may have to add Hoy to the list as well if he gets a Gold

Pies he has wigan Kebab on order [ pie in a bap]

Hoy loses the equivalent of a gold medal for each awful advert he does.

Up there with Paul Gascoyne in Italia 90, in terms of transforming the status of a sport. Wiggins - someone to believe in at last!

Froome gets Bronze - crowd goes wild
Martin gets Silver - polite applause
Wiggins gets Gold - can't hear yourself think.

How many events is Hoy competing? Is it just the Keirin or pursuit too?
