I know I shouldn't, but how bad would it be if I did? I'm changing my rear caliper to an SLX one but don't want to shorten the brake hose as it's already a bit on the short side. I figure the worst case scenario is that mineral oil erupts from a bad seal and sprays all over my rotor as I'm desperately trying to brake - but if it bleeds OK how likely is that to happen?
Or should I be grown up and say 'this is critical equipment, spend a tenner on some new hose you skinflint' - in which case I won't be able to ride tomorrow. Though on the other hand the slushy mud will slow me down just fine so what the heck!
I have re-used olives time and time again without an issue. To be honest I wasn't aware that you could only use them once.
Ignorance is sometimes the best policy.
