Having a clear out and have a couple of old tyres and inner tubes. Any ideas for uses for them. Already cutting the inner tube to use as bands, but would like some more ideas.
Mudguard flap, phone pouch, handlebar roll, frame bag, chainsaty protector, trousers belt, moon bag...
Yeah loads and loads of options, providing you want to put some time and effort into that.
Cheers!

Donate them to property owners who live next to loud clang shut gates etc. You can use them as cushions/pads on the gate.
I use little bits of mine to protect the frame from mudguard zip ties. And cut them into little bits as they can be used as small worms/anchovies for tubeless.
I used one to fix a hole in a heat store in a combi boiler. Bit niche that.
Grips for opening jam jars etc.
Lined a bottle cage to improve the grip on bottles.

Then what did you use to protect the frame from the bit of innertube?
Got some ideas. I only have a couple of each, but I'll see what I can make.
Thanks.
Improvise a Gimp suit.
cut an inner tube so its a long tube, attach one end to yourself, and run the rest of it down the inside of your trousers, exiting at ground level by your ankle. Then when you're at an outdoors festival you can 'go' where you stand without losing your place.
I don't suppose tubes from 21mm road bike tyres or 3 inch fatbike tyres are any good, but somewhere in between should be ok.

I use tubes for dropper post protection. It might look a bit naff but it's saving me in maintenance and replacement.
Tyres are trickier... other than earrings i've not found much use for them.
Andrewh, your friends stuff is great.
