Anyone tried this or changed to a 1 x 9/10 set up and used the left hand shifter for the fork lock out ?

Any good ?

Can't see why the thumbie wouldn't work, not a bad idea

A rapidfire type shifter might pull too much / not enough cable. And there might not be enough pull from the lockout to return the cable through the mechanism once it's released. There's no harm in trying though, shirley?!

I think it would need to be fairly tight so that the spring in the MC unit don't just pull the cable back again. I have bin considering something simliar, and found an old Exage indxed thumbie. I may try that see what happens. Not sure if it'll pull enough cable though.

IMO, the PopLoc lever is crap. Plasticky flimsy junk, what costs silly money to replace.

I had a pop loc lever, nice fancy steel one, the mech broke inside and I looked at how much they are £ 80ish !!

Reckon could get a old school xt thumbie or suntour xc pro for about £ 20, it would be "trick".

Someone must of tried it by now.

Have thought of using one to activate the 130-100mm drop on my Magura forks since it doesn't need to lock to do this, just pull the cable while you move the forks up or down the travel.

Haven't picked up a suitable shifter to give it a try, but if I spot one I think I'll give it a shot. Still can't believe how bad the flimsy plastic magura ones are in comparision to the great build quality of the fork itself. The price is daft too.

Will report back if I do try it out.

Done it tonight with a old suntour thumbie, its the dogs b0llox.

Works better than the £ 80 rock shox fancy metal pop-loc lever, and it looks a lot cleaner. 😛

Why on Earth do you think it looks like a butt-plug? Of all the things you coiuld have compared it to, and you come up with 'butt-plug'. 😯

I think I may try this with that Exage shifter I have....

No, not put it up my bottom you degenerates! 🙄

I was toying with the idea of using a gripshift control to remotely activate my U-turn knob. Early days of the idea but anyone else been thinking along those lines?
