Any one on here know if it's possible to change the length of a set of float RLC ( old ones ) before I ring mojo and make a complete fool of myself !

Possibly. I got my old Fox Float Rs dropped from 130 down to IIRC 100 as they were on an old school 1998 hardtail and it was mental amount of travel. An insert either added or removed IIRC.

my 2007 Stumpy came with RL's (I think). They were 120mm but after 8 years I found out I could increase to 130 by removing a plastic spacer. Took me about 20 mins to do this. Pretty sure the spacer was on the non air valve side. YOu do have to drain all the oil out so best to do it at the same time as an oil change. It was all documented on the fox website. Good luck.

I have 2008 Float RLC's and as above it's just a case of adding/removing spacers. Mine are 140mm and I've taken them down to 100mm without issue. Spacers cost a couple of quid and just clip on. (Page 31 in the link below) Make sure you have the correct size socket for removing the inners as the metal is very soft!

Looking at those instructions, it looks very similar to the 2014 Fox 32s I did this weekend.

For mine, the only specific tools that were needed were something to go over the rebound adjuster to allow the leg to be knocked out and a large (26mm), chamferless socket to remove the air-side cartridge. It's really important that it's chamferless or you'll round it off, but you can easily convert a regular socket with 5 minutes on a bench grinder ๐Ÿ™‚
